The ClimateLaunchpad Meknes cohort has successfully completed its regional bootcamp tour, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards becoming climate innovators. This two-day program, held at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at Moulay Ismail University in Meknes, brought together entrepreneurs passionate about addressing environmental and economic challenges. The bootcamp's unique approach of bringing the training to the participants, rather than expecting them to travel, has been a key factor in its success. This strategy ensures accessibility and inclusivity, allowing climate innovators across Morocco to benefit from the program. The cohort was led by Dutch cleantech expert Ron Bloemers, who provided invaluable insights into finance, accounting, investment, impact measurement, and pitch preparation. One of the standout ventures participating in the bootcamp was SQAIA System, founded by Oussama Baazzi. SQAIA is an innovative, automated irrigation system designed for farms operating off the conventional power grid. Baazzi's vision is to create a greener economy by reducing water waste and harmful emissions associated with traditional irrigation methods. The bootcamp also emphasized the importance of responsible use of climate evidence in business pitches. Bloemers advised participants to select and connect climate statistics directly to the problems their products aim to solve. This approach ensures that climate ventures are not just making broad claims but are backed by measurable environmental impact. The entrepreneurs engaged in interactive exercises to enhance their problem-solving, communication, and ability to handle difficult questions. The official ClimateLaunchpad competition pathway, which includes bootcamp training, coaching, and pitching opportunities at various levels, is now within reach for the Meknes cohort. The participants received certificates, recognizing their dedication and progress.
